This course will provide a basic understanding of the context, meaning, and purpose of lay and local leadership in today’s church. It will explore servant leadership and ministry in the local church and the community, and can be used as part of a discipleship plan for any laity to acquaint them with a calling.

Course Developers

William Harrison
Rev. Dr. William Harrison has a broad background as a senior administrative leader, teacher, and ordained clergy. He holds a B.A. Hons. in Political Science from Carleton University, a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Boston College, an M.A. in English from the University of British Columbia, and a B.Th. from St. Paul University/University of Ottawa. He served as the Director for Mission and Ministry for the Anglican Diocese of Huron, Ontario and prior to that was the founding Principal for the Kootenay School of Ministry in British Columbia, an institute that runs courses to prepare locally trained Priests, Deacons, and Licensed Lay Ministers for ministry work. He has been the President of the Lutheran Theological Seminary since 2017.
